Manolo González-Estay leads TransForm’s efforts to influence transportation policy and funding decisions in the Bay Area, including the region's first Sustainable Communities Strategy under SB 375.

Before joining TransForm in August 2011, Manolo gave trainings on public participation and Title VI/civil rights issues as part of the National Transit Institute (NTI). NTI is funded by the Federal Transit Administration to train transportation agencies across the country. Before NTI, Manolo spent nearly 10 years as a transportation consultant and working on political campaigns in Denver, Colorado. This included work on public involvement and environmental justice for one of the new rail corridors in Denver (RTD Fastracks), several statewide initiative campaigns, and teaching Spanish to now-President Obama.

Manolo has a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Born and raised in California to Chilean parents, Manolo was excited to return to California to use his experience with transportation agencies and as a campaigner to win more equitable and sustainable transportation policy. He and his wife enjoy raising their young daughter and two English Bulldogs.
