October 18, 2011: GreenTRIP Workshop at Rail~Volution Conference in Washington, DC
Program Director Ann Cheng spoke to the highlights and lessons learned from the first five projects in the Bay Area.
LISC Green Development Center, in partnership with TransForm, hosted a free, public webcast exploring the certification system. Speakers featured two new GreenTRIP certified projects (South Hayward Affordable Family and Senior Housing in Hayward and The Ohlone in San Jose) and explained both how and why GreenTRIP was developed as a transportation tool to promote greater housing affordability in transit rich neighborhoods. In the session "Moving Forward: A Tool for Estimating VMT Reduction," speakers presented the new VMT reduction measurement tool that documents and quantifies the expected effects of selecting and combining transportation impact mitigation strategies. The tool was developed for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. This session also featured TransForm's innovative GreenTRIP Certification.
April 27, 2011: GreenTRIP at Housing California
Program Director, Ann Cheng, presented on GreenTRIP at an afternoon workshop (Workshop Session II) at the annual Housing California Conference in Sacramento.
March 24-25, 2011: GreenTRIP at MTC Parking Fundamentals Workshops
MTC hosted two parking trainings: one in the North Bay (San Rafael - 3/24) and the other in the South Bay (San Jose - 3/25). The workshops covered diverse parking issues with breakouts for case study-based problem solving.
February 9, 2011: GreenTRIP at San Francisco Revit User Group
Stuart Cohen, TransForm Executive Director, will be discussing the organization's innovative programs including GreenTRIP. Architects and urban designers working and living in the Bay Area are encouraged to attend.
November 18, 2010: GreenTRIP at NPH Brownbag Presentation
Ann Cheng, GreenTRIP Program Director presented on GreenTRIP as part of a panel with Peter Waller, Pyotak Architects and Jessica ter Schure, Nelson/Nygaard on: "Parking and Affordable Housing: Housing for People or Cars?" at a Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California brownbag presentation.
October 14, 2010: GreenTRIP at a joint APA and ITE Meeting
Ann presented on GreenTRIP as part of a panel with Andrea Osgood, Eden Housing on "Sustainable Communities Strategies for Land Use and Transportation."
September 22, 2010: GreenTRIP at SPUR
The audience learned about GreenTRIP and heard from developers whose projects have earned GreenTRIP certifications including Michael Van Every,Green Republic; Mark Rhoades, City Centric; Andrea Ogood, Eden Housing at a lunchtime forum on September 22 at the San Francisco Planning + Urban Research. April 22, 2010: GreenTRIP invited to ABAG's launch of OneBayArea: Local Government Summit
The Association of Bay Area Governments hosted their annual General Assembly on April 22nd, and showcased GreenTRIP as one of the innovations that local governments could use to combat climate change and meet SB 375 requirements while reducing costs and development impacts. ABAG is the council of governments and designated regional planning agency representing the Bay Area’s nine counties and 101 cities and towns. View the GreenTRIP display board here.
